Partner countries: Turkey, UK, Sweden, Iceland, Italy, Poland

2. Partnership content

2.1. Description of the Partnership activities undertaken and the results achieved so far:

The first meeting had an organisational character as not every partner knew each other. So the first activity was to present every institution and their field of work. Next thing which turned out necessary was the adaptation of the work programme and planning of the international meetings as the number of the partners was reduced by two (Spain and Austria didn’t get the grant for the realization of the project). So the consortium redistributed the tasks and planned once again the international meetings. The result of the first meeting was the project logo and the project website.

During the second meeting in Derry we started normal project work which consisted in presenting the first coaching model and how it is used in our partner organisation (NWA), then the participants of the meeting had a chance to take part in the workshops to try out in practice within international working groups the elements of this model as an answer to some common problems that the training staff encounter during their daily work. Next step was the final amendment of the template for the coaching model adaptation that will be needed to gather the adaptations of all partners and of all model presented during the project in the same form so that a handbook with adaptation examples might be created as a final result of the project.

During the third meeting in Iceland, the results of the adaptation of the UK model were presented by the partners as every partner had time to adapt the model to their needs and try it out between the meetings. After that the consortium made some amendments to the evaluation forms for trainers and for the trainees who used the model. Next very important step during the meeting was the presentation of the next coaching model of the Icelandic partner which was followed by workshops in international working groups to get to know better the presented  model and be able to adapt it and try out within the partner institutions.

2.2. What obstacles have you met in the implementation of the Partnership?

We encountered minor problems during last two meetings to gather all the partners. During our second meeting in UK, our Turkish coordinator couldn’t make it to come to the UK because of the problems with getting a visa. During the third meeting in Iceland our UK partner couldn’t come to the meeting because of the monitoring visit of the British Council during exactly the same days. Unfortunately the consortium couldn’t change the dates as some of the partners had already bought the plane tickets. However the partners who missed the meetings were informed about the meeting results and the “to do” list so that they know well how to proceed and carry out next project tasks.
